2012 SW motech engine guard and OEM stand.

FYI
Just fitted a SW motech engine guard (MSS.05.759.10000/B).
Rear of the guard will prevent the SUZUKI OEM center stand from being used.
My guess is it will need an inch removed from the rear of the guard.
One to look out for.
And if anyone has the same configuration.......did it work ?

Yet another reason not to get the Motech engine guard? I'll have a centerstand on my ADV model soon and sometime this year will hopefully find a usable engine guard.

UPDATE

40 mm cut off the end.
(Not 35, didn't want to cut it twice), hacksaw and file job.
All OK.
Angry... no what is the point, it doesn't have a heart beat.
Well... not until I get the Akrapovic.
Nice day today... recall and then this.
Will email those who need to be told.

Thanks, that looks like a reasonable compromise. Hopefully they'll fix this soon. Otherwise I'll trouble some people with metalworking equipment.

We are watching this thread while waiting for the delivery of our 2012 DL650 so we can test this issue on a US bike. Please PM us with the results you encounter if you install the SW-MOTECH Skid Plate on your 2012 DL650 WITH an OEM centerstand. Naturally, the SW-MOTECH Centerstand WILL work with the SW-MOTECH Skid Plate. Keep us posted and we promise to do the same for you guys.

Question

G'day Gents

Searched but didn't see/couldn't find the answer to: Does one have to remove the SW-Motech skid plate in order to replace the oil filter?

Thanks.

I haven't done it yet, but I believe you remove two bolts and it swivels forward for access. cheers--BB

Any updates on the SW Motech Skid Plate/Engine Guard compatibility with the OEM Center Stand for the 2012 DL650?

TTs website states that the SW Motech Skid Plate is compatible with the OEM center stand, but the OP's experience does not agree.
