It is unchanged from previous years. Gearing commander says 5600rpm is an indicated 75.5mph which is actually 70mph.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s

Question

Beyond the position of the oil cooler, is there any other significant change between the engines of 650 2012 from the previous years?
Is there any power / torque increase between the two engines?

Which brings up a good question, is the digital speedo also ~8% optimistic, and of so how can it be corrected since you can't just throw a corrected gauge face from raceratb at it?

Now I can finaly quit pointing out gearing commander has the same error as our speedometer.

I hadn't seen anything about the Gearing Commander figures before that I remember. The first thing I noticed were its figures were based on the stock instruments.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.

I've made numerous unacknowleged posts about it over the years, pretty much anytime gearing commander was mentioned.

You are the only other one that's mentioned it .... and only just now that I know of.

I may very well never mentioned it before. It doesn't seem very important.
