What is the best brand of repair manual for a 2016 DL650A and best place to purchase one. I have heard some of the online pdf's schematics are not very good. Recommendations paper manual or pdf file online.
Usually the factory manual, the official version is suggested. It's a bit pricey but can be found in the for sale section occasionally.
I got mine from a fellow member for around $25.
Other than second hand manuals, all other printed or digital manuals for your model V-Strom are pirated copies. We do not allow discussion on pirated manual so if this thread goes that way it will be either closed or deleted.
Thanks. Not looking for pirated copies, so I hope it doesn't go that direction. Looked online and saw numerous options with poor reviews. Just trying to get good information. I will follow up with your link if I cant find a second hand manual.
Shucks, I have an old copy of a Clymer manual for my 1100RT BMW. It's is really nice shape and I'll send it for free but it probably wouldn't help much. It would free up a large space in my cupboard though. :grin2:
The pirated copies I've seen can be identified by a lack of drilled holes at the left edge for a ring binder. They have the shadow of a hole left by the copier, but no holes. And no glossy cover. Hope you find a good deal on a used genuine one. I may have paid $65 for mine and I thought it was worth it. I can't speak to the legitimate aftermarket books. Best, DD
I do not believe that there are any. Clymer released a DL650 2004-12 service manual but over recent years nothing.
It's my belief that Suzuki no longer authorises competing service manuals.
I wasn't aware of that, Brockie. I guess that places a bit of a premium on the genuine article. I've always liked the way Honda does their manuals. I wish they did a manual for the Suzuki! Heresy! Best, DD
Thanks for the input and advice. I went ahead and ordered from the genuinesuzukimanual website. It wasn't as expensive as I thought but felt more comfortable ordering directly from them knowing the quality of the product will be there. Thanks again
Haynes offers an alternative to the factory manual. I don't have anything else to compare it to but it does the job. I assume you get what you pay for, though.
