Equivalent material for filter, breather?

I looked at the breather filter when i took out the air filter and it fell apart. I've checked revzilla, ronayers, bikebandit, partzilla and a couple of others and no one has this in stock.

Has anyone successfully tried a piece of different material to replace this? Or a place I haven't heard of that might have it in stock?

Thanks.

My son had suggested a piece from the air filter on our generator. I'll have to check that out when I go home. Thanks.

I would go to a home center like home depot and see if one of the filter elements from a briggs and straton engine will fit. The way I see it, as long as you can fit this element in the airbox in that rectangler box, you should be fine.

Mine has been oily and I've been using simple green to degrease it. so far it is still holding up.

+1 on the foam lawnmower air filter from the hardware store. Just replace it every 15k miles.
