Hose clamps: spares

This is a rookie question from a pretty new strommer but...

I am wondering if anyone carries extra hose clamps along on longer trips, as part of your kit, and if so, what size/type you'd bring for 2012 DL650. I am going riding for a week in Mexico and would like to have a tool kit with some essentials. The last time I was there another guy sprang a leak in his fuel line (BMW) and had the stuff to fix it. I don't really carry any spare clamps, but I did notice the last (and first) time I did a tank lift that the hose clamps on the fuel line were a little rusty.

I have been carrying stainless steel wire ties for a year or so.

Spare hose clamps.
Most of the time it will be the hose that fails, never heard of a hose clamp failing.
Unless it is tightened by a gorilla.
Even a rusty one will still hold tight, unless it rusts through.

Here is a good thread to read through: https://www.stromtrooper.com/dl650-d...es-spares.html

I would not carry spare hose clamps. It's amazing what you can use zip ties for.

I carry two band clamps. Both are about 2 inches in diameter. My tool kit has wire cutters and you can cut down a large clamp to smaller. You can also join two together.

I carry about 5 feet of electrical wire.

Some zip ties.

Fiber tape, about 5 feet, wrapped around a wrench handle.

All of this weighs less than a few ounces.
