Leaky Fork Seal Model History

Guys, please help me out with this. I seem to remember that sometime around the 2015 model year that DL650 seals suffered from premature failure/leaks. It could have been one of those random cluster events, and I may have the model year wrong, but I' about 60% remembering this.

Anyone remember a thread about it or experience it?

I'll confess to chasing a number of leaks on my '13. Always the lh side.

Not so much as a drop from my 15XT, and I've been hard on those forks.

I don't remember reading that one. Maybe try searching for GWs Rancho shock cover recommendation.

My 13 has been pretty much "issue free" in 60k miles. I replaced the fork oil once when installing gold valves and springs, without replacing seals or bushings. I've cleaned out the seals with a credit card once to stop a leak. And I most recently replaced the seals, bushings and oil. Doesn't seem like an excessive amount of work, especially considering how I abuse the bike. For what it's worth, I use Bel-Ray fork oil, and OEM seals and bushings.

2016 DL650, L/H fork started to sweat at approx 15,000 Km, mentioned it to dealer, both forks had seals replaced under warranty.

L/H seal on my '12 Wee began weeping a bit a few months ago. I ordered and received one of the small plastic seal cleaning tools. Haven't used it yet...

2007 Wee. Blue. Bought at 5K miles. Sold at 32K+ miles. Gone but not forgotten.

2012 Wee2 Adventure. Black. Bought at 26K miles. Now 44K+. Love it!

On my 13 both seals died after 2 1/2 years. Had a weeper last spring that I cured with a "Seal Mate"
