Anyone know what this is?

This is under the front panel. The metal clip is the inside of the screw on side of white fairing, on which you attach the small wind deflectors.

I have posted another Q for the same purpose, sorry system wont let me attach the link but its about the augustus deflectors.

I have this clip on one side, not on the other side in my bike... that other side is which is ruined.. can someone help me with what this is called and how do I install on the right side now?

thanks
Manni

Iím not exactly sure what those are called but itís nothing more than a female thread that you can position easily over a frame tab, allowing you to secure a panel to it. It would probably be a 2 person job to do it but have someone hold the correct size nut (?10-32)for the bolt going through the Augustus deflector and spacer.

From the picture, it looks like a spring nut, or speed nut. It is shaped like a U and will slide off for replacement. They look similar to this:

Most auto parts stores carry a reasonable selection of both standard and metric. I'm sure you can find one on a parts fiche too.

Second scab's comment. I've bought plenty of those at Auto Zone, O'Reilly, etc. over the years.
