'12 650 - Sticky shifter

Noticed today that it was difficult to shift up from 3 - 4 and 4 - 5. This was after 30+ minutes of riding at 45-50mph. In the past, when the engine is cool, it sometimes takes an extra nudge to shift up till the engine warms up then it smoothes out.
Bike was new to me in December and has 15,000 miles on the clock. 2000 miles since last oil change.
Thoughts?

Be sure your shifter pivots are greased as is the shaft, and some engine lubricating fluids don't last as long as others for shifting quality. No oil talk here folks, I am just giving an example is all.

I noticed some clunky shifting with certain oils after a bit of mileage. Lately I've noticed that a thicker viscosity makes a world of shifting difference.

Definitely lube up your linkages as a starting point. PM me if you want to discuss oil

If lubing the shifter pivots does not help consider lubing and adjusting the clutch - it worked for me.

Chain lube spray could be an option at the clutch lever and down at the gear lever pivot points. Don't get heavy handed on the spay, as you will have to clean up the excess or it will just attract dust / dirt / etc.
