Start motor not responding

Hi all,
I Went on a Friday-Sunday trip this weekend with my 2016 V-strom 650. Everything looked and sounded as normal when I turned the ignition key on Sunday morning (after ca 700 km), but nothing happened when I pressed the start button.

The kill switch and all fuses that I've found (one fuse box, ABS fuses and a 30A fuse inside a white plastic box) seems ok. My friend helped me to start it with a little push, so I guess it's not a problem with the side stand sensor or any sensor that checks if the bike is upright.

I did add a 12V and a double USB outlet (eager beaver + adventuretech) so I wondered if my phone (or wiring) might have played a part in this, but charging the battery for a few hours made no difference. The voltage doesn't drop noticeably when turning the ignition or holding the start button down.

Does anyone have a suggestion on where to look next?

I have warranty on it, but I know next to nothing of bikes and would like to take this opportunity to learn something.

Learn to use your warranty and get your bike fixed for free using the warranty you paid for when you bought the bike.
This is assuming it's nothing you did adding your outlet and USB port. Be sure to have them explain the exact problem in detail and what the repair was.

That was it! You are my favourite person on the Internet right now!

I didn't see that it was loose (and unexperienced enough not to test it anyway). I feel a bit stupid now, but appreciate the opportunity to learn. Thanks!

Clutch switch won't have a "chec" displayed on dash, a side stand safety switch will however if malfunctioning and I believe if the kill switch is off?

Don’t feel stupid. If I ride my other bikes (without the clutch switch) too many times between Vstrom rides, I usually try to start my Vstrom without pulling in the clutch. This always gives the “oh no, what’s wrong” feeling in my gut for a second.

The disconnected clutch switch didn't cause a "check", neither does the kill switch.

"I feel a bit stupid now,"

Not a problem when a situation is first encountered. I sat like a duffus at a gas pump wondering WTF when trying to start the bike. I'd hit the kill switch and the bike was fairly new to me at the time.
We all do some sort of brain fart occasionally.
Glad it was an easy fix.
Part of my daily reading is all of the new posts and questions on the forum. It makes me aware of potential problems I may encounter in the future.
I've been caught by the clutch switch before so I know to look there eventually.
