Question Saddlebag Frames

I have heard of luggage frames being made from PVC pipe. Has anyone attempted this?

Not an answer to your question, but my opinion...I suppose anything is possible, but seems anything stiff enough to handle the weight and stresses of riding would be too large of a diameter to be practical. I'd stick with steel.

Besides the lack of stiffness, it's tendency to get brittle with UV exposure and ugly looks, I see no problem with it.
