a seemingly dumb question...

A dumb question that I have not found the answer to, even when consulting my Haynes manual (and it's too dark to see tonight to pull it down)...
What's the stop / tail light bulb number for the 2015 dl650?
So that I might well get a LED upgrade bulb ordered shortly...

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s

Just a heads up; an LED replacement bulb is typically worse than a halogen in a reflector housing.

I am not all that comfortable with LED replacement bulbs. I have bought many for my RV ( which used automotive type bulbs for much interior lighting ) hoping for reduced heat and increased light. I don't think the light output was ever anywhere near what the incandescent bulbs gave. But they sure were a LOT cooler, especially since they only worked for a short time in many cases!

I would NOT trust one of them in a single bulb rear taillight/brake light assembly.

On my CX 500 I replaced most bulbs with LEDs. Only had a 170w stator So saving watts was important. Paid 20 bucks for two tail/brake lights that were brighter than stock. That was over 3 years ago and prices have come way down. Go to Ebay, type "1157 red smd led" and see what comes up. Shipping is usually free and will be at your door in a week to 10 days from China. Be careful with bulb size and for best results it should be red in color. For example one seller has 2 bulbs for 11 bucks. There are 5 chips on the end facing rear with 3 emitters in each chip. The eight chips on the side will light up the rest of the lens. Try a cheaper one for $1.14. Yes they will deliver it to your door from china for $1.14

Amazing. I ordered a $6 pocket solar/windup torch from China with free delivery and was so embarrassed that I ordered 3 of them. They duly arrived 3 weeks later safe and sound individually wrapped in bubble wrap. Last week I ordered from China a Dual Sport jacket & pants combo for $140 freight free. Perhaps not the quality of your $1500 BMW or Klim suit but the jacket I received from there 3 years ago is still in good condition and has all the protection in elbows, shoulders and back but the colour has become faded. Too much sun. I took out the removable thermal liner and found a mesh lining underneath.
