Grip puppies and heated grips

I always add the foam covers (Grip Puppies or any other brand). Has anyone had experience of adding heated grips and then covering them with foam covers?

Does the foam keep your hands from feeling warm?

Works great, no problem at all!!!! I have had both Oxford grips and Symtec heaterz, no issue whatsoever with heat coming through. Matter of fact I believe it helps to insulate everything even better.

I have foam covers on my Oxford heated grips. Take a little longer to heat up, but work fine.

Thanks for your replies.

I'm thinking of heated grips and barkbusters for colder temps or higher elevations.

I have the opposite - standard grips with grip puppies and heated wraps over the top of all of that. Particularly good for large hands on long trips. I find most of the heat comes out of the wraps not through to the rubber grips.

I noticed on my previous bike that had factory heated grips, that when I added grip puppys there was a noticeable reduction in heat to the hands. I kept the grip puppys, but it took a lot longer for my hands to warm up.

On my 2005, i installed the equivalent to grip puppies over the standard grips. They made the bars much larger to grab, but still acceptable. On my 2013, I just finished installing Suzuki brand heated grips. These are larger than the stock grips. So, I guess installing grip puppies over them would make them that much larger. Think about it before going for it. It could get uncomfortable.
