Saying goodbye to the V-Strom...

It has been a good couple of years.

I found a great deal on a new 14 Tiger Explorer XC.

Unfortunately the V-Strom had to go... they offered me what I thought was a decent amount for trade in, and with the discounted Tiger, I could not walk away.

I'd say goodbye for a KTM 1190 ADV. Maybe.

2012 Suzuki DL650AL2, over 45k miles already!

I think you made a good choice. The bike you bought is one of the few that would tempt me away. I can't find a dealer that really wants to sell one at this time of year.

Hoping you have many safe and happy miles aboard the new bike. Something different is always exciting. Definitely a wonderful mile cruncher with the best sounding motor out there. Cheers.

You appear to have a thing for Triumphs, enjoy that new scoot. I HATE that the XC has tube tires, but hey that is just me.

The XC (Explorer) has tubeless tires...It mattered to me too.

Oh yeah of course it does, I thought you were referring to the 800 when you said "XC". Be sure to report back on how you like that machine, I do know that there has been considerable issues with the previous model years Explorers, but sounds like Triumph is great to deal with and they have been very proactive in resolution. I really like the looks and the specs of that machine, but not sure "for me" that I could pick it over a Super 10 or a new GS.

I had a deal worked out on a Super Tenere, they did not want to give me anything near what I thought was fair for the V-Strom...If it were not for that, I would probably have that, instead of the Explorer.

The new GS is/was way out of my price range.

So far the Explorer is a fun machine (limited miles)...I can see it being a handful in the rough stuff, but we will see?
