Mounted Rifle Hard Case

Yes, I mounted a hard case on my 2014 DL650.
Plans are to use it when bird hunting, and this Summer on my Alaska Trip

The Hard Case and bracket that holds it are for ATV's.....I just had to design an extra mounting plate... A bit of cutting, drilling, and welding... fun!
Pic was added below, finally.

Driving into and through Canada with a rifle or firearm of any type can be a real pain. Be sure to register your ownership of the gun with US Customs PRIOR to entering Canada. I personally would UPS it to myself in Alaska and send it home the same way if I was riding to and from Ak. I carry my AR on my V-Strom but it is easy with the short barrel and collapsible buttstock(NOT into Canada). Breakdown shotguns are cake too. I've a friend that carries a Mosin 91/30 on his CanAm Spyder. Looks like a flag pole..................

Quite welcome. I speak from experience as I was US and Canadian customs liaison for a US military detachment (Det 3, 425th MUNSS) stationed in Quebec. I made the run thru customs monthly and firearms even military in uniform on NATO orders caused major delays. Borders with allies are tough anymore..............ride safe.........Mike

P.S. nice picture came out well

Thanks... some 2 inch wide metal stock from Lowe's did the job fine...just drilled a couple holes for it to mount under the rear trunk...then it sticks out the right side for the base of the atv mount to bolt together. I doubled this piece for strength(tack welded together), and I used a ram mount underneath to keep it from flexing... both the rear and right side case tops open fine and miss the rifle case.... had about 1/4 - 1/2 inch clearance from both lids.

seems solid.

I was envisioning a rectangular case like mine. Your case is in-your-face rifle shape. Way cool!

There isn't anything more Murcan' than a rifle mounted to a motorcycle!! When I had my harley I wanted to get one of those ww2 engine guard mounted leather rifle cases. That would have been sweet.
