Do you worry that since you like the 08 so much the new one might now measure up? I know the reviews of it have been very positive. It's just that once I get my new to me 05 set up to my liking I don't know if I'll want to upgrade.

The reviews have been pretty good. Consensus seems to be a better ride. I was considering the new Vee for next year, but a 2013 Wee popped up here at too good a deal to pass up. So, the way I look at it I saved myself at least $7k this summer....

I know it's off topic but I'm very jealous that you live in Bethel, Maine. I've been going skiing there since I was a kid and more recently my mother bought a vacation house up there. I love being up there any time of year and would move there in a heartbeat if I could actually find work. Until then I'm stuck in the boston area. What do full time residents actually do for a living up there? There doesn't seem to be much industry.

I hope you enjoy the new bike. You live in a great place for riding. One of the reasons I decided to get a v strom was because I got sick of riding my blackbird on the rough Maine roads. The vstrom handles rough roads very well.

+1 Congrats

I think an upgrade from Wee.0 to Wee.1 is something you'll really be happy with. I rode the Wee.0 a couple of hundred miles back in 2004 and was impressed but not to where I decide to buy one. I started looking at Vstroms but didn't end up getting one of those either.
Nine years later...
I bought a new 2012 Wee.1 in Jan and it's so good that I doubt anyone could make a better bike. After 40 years of riding I consider it a true sweet spot in the world of adventure bikes (and adv bikes are already sweet spot of bikes!)

Decent paying jobs are few and far between in these parts. It is a great place to live, ski and ride if you can find work. I'm retired military and work at the high school. I would venture there's as many vacation homes as locals...lol. My division has 11 homes and only two are full time residents. You should join us for the Fall Peep Show I host first week in Oct. Check it out in the events section. We camp upta Grafton Notch.
