Question securing OEM Suzuki side cases

I pick up my 2013 DL650 tomorrow. First time owning an adv/touring bike. I've been on a Harley Sportster for years. HD is too damn loud.

My question to all that are more experienced in adv type luggage is this. My new bike comes with OEM (Suzuki stammped) hard cases left & right that mount to the bike with Flat Head screws (pictures tomorrow). These are real nice cases that will get stolen easy and quick. How can I better secure them?

My thoughts are Torqx screws instead of Big flat heads. Maybe the fancy security torqx screws.

What do you guys use?

There is a kit to convert the hardware to non-removable.

I just looked through the Twisted Throttle website quickly and couldn't find it. I'm sure the link is around here somewhere.

Maybe someone will chime in with it.

SW-MOTECH Keyed Locking Quick-Lock Fasteners (pair) - TwistedThrottle.com

I have these, they work great. You can install as many sets as you like. I use just one and that's plenty.......

I know it can happen but has anyone actually had their side cases stolen?

Ya know, I would hate to be 4 or 5 states from home and find out the hard way.... I went on a 2 week 5000 mile trip by myself last year, and to me not being anywhere I've been before, these were invalueable.........

Any ideas for securing the racks that are a bit more secure then the dzus fasteners that don't involve a key. I thought of drilling them out and bolting in place. I already have too many keys on my ring. Ignition, Bestem top box, Trax side cases, tool tube, helmet cable lock and house key.

miles smiles=bike.
It's simple math.

I didn't order the key locks for $54. I went to Lowes and bought 10 feet of 3/32 steel cable and the crimp ends to make loops. I plan on running cable through the lower brackets of my cargo boxes and back up under my seat to the helmet hooks. The hole thing will be a very unobtrusive cable lock that does not need any special key all for less than $5.

I just needed to get to the hardware store and think about it.

Tack weld the bolts to the nuts.
Fill the flathead groove with slag or epoxy.
For a less permanent solution, use Red Loctite on the bolts.
