How much better is the 2012+ compared to the 2010 model

All you guys and girls that have had both models, what is your opinion of the 2012 and later compared to say the 2010 (which is what I ride)mine is getting up in km's (56000km) and I was looking at a V (1000), but not a V Beak, I've been told the later Wee is a bit more 'zippy' than the older version. I'd be real keen to hear opinions from those that have owned or ridden both as to your thoughts, the pluses and minuses.

The 2008-2011 models are virtually identical. As you might have guessed, this question has been asked before. Here are some threads on the subject.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s

Thanks Greywolf, I knew it would have been dealt with somewhere.Thank you for the links.
I'm beginning to think I must have BO or something, you seem to be the only one here that's ever interested in answering my questions, a little disheartening but on the good side, you are the boss here and are the most knowledgeable guy I've come across on V Stroms so all can't be bad. Thanks again mate, much appreciated, don't give up on me)))

I've ridden two late model (2009-2010) Wee's back to back with my Glee. I reckon the 2012+ feels lighter, taller, stiffer chassis and more capable handling with a much more free spinning motor and better instruments, not to say better looking.

Based on that days riding I probably wouldn't have been keen to buy the earlier version, and I had a lot of trouble getting my bike back off the other guys..

I sold my purchased new 2007 wee in January. I had put 65.000 kilometres on the bike. Purchased 2014 white Vstrom 650 a few days later.
It feels lighter, more agile, more up to date looks. The suspension feels better, no more clunky forks. The gas tank is smaller, you can feel it with your knees. After a 1000 kilometres, the gas mileage gets better. The fuel range becomes similar to the old bike. So far I love the new one!

One more. I traded my DL1000, so I don't know how was riding the Wee650.
I like a lot the new DL650 (or Gleeeeee). The design I guess is a huge improvement. Suzuki was stuck from 12 years ago and finally updated that.
I like a lot having the gear indication in the screen, the ABS, the fuel milage, the lack of issues on the clutch and the engine low rev issue.
Despite being a 650, the bike is very capable. Amazing progress I think.

I'm relatively new to this V-Strom world. In 2011 I got a '09, dl 650 I loved it . It seemed to fit me perfectly, and I had no complaints at all.

Last year i purchased a "13 DL 650, primarily because it has the ABS, and I can use all the help I can get in staying safe. And if possible, I like it even more. As was said above, the gear display is helpful, and to my beginners sense, it seems to have a bit more pep. I am very glad I upgraded.

Good luck !
