When to fit filter and system

So I have a K and N and my Akropovic pipe coming..

Thing is i'm due first service soon, so I'm wondering opinions on fitting pipe n filter, should I do it before the service?

Is there any adjustments made at first service that would benefit from having it on?

Or just wait n get it serviced then modify?

From these forums I've been led to believe the first service is an oil filter, oil change and a torque of bolts... thats all. Other than a bolt tighten I cannot see anything that would make a difference, either way.

One argument for waiting is that you get an idea of how the basic bike works, vibrates etc, and then when you know this, if it does the same with the new filter / exhaust, you know that the new filter / exhaust didn't cause it.

Congrats on the nice new pipe, nice choice

I had mine and the K&N installed with the first service, dropped the bike off and picked it up later all done

You will notice a difference immediately, enjoy!

ok thanks

I'll just do it later, my local shop is $100/hr labour, not paying that for what can do myself.

They already quoted me 280-300 AUD for first service, i'm thinking oil n filter n WTF else?

I'm hoping that was a generous over estimate or its last time they will put a spanner near it.

I personally would not install until after the bike has been broken in and after the 1 year warranty is up. This will void your warranty for sure

ah true.

Install after service, and put back to standard if any warranty issues arise..

Maybe if it can be proven that the non-OEM parts caused / contributed to the problem, but why would they void the warranty on, for example, the instrument panel when neither has any affect on it / near to it. Now if it was a Triumph ....
