"Accessory Adapter" from Eastern Beaver

Has anyone used the "accessory adapter" for the Glee, which is what he calls our auxillary outlet? Is it plug and play, or do you need to solder the wires on the other end to a power jack (powerlet, cigarette sytle, SAE, etc., depending on your device)? I use a cigarette style plug hooked up to the battery to charge both my phone and GPS, but the wire is a PITA. Obviously, I'm an idiot when it comes to electronics (among other things), so your patience is appreciated.

Thanks,

Keith

One end plugs into the accessory jack inside the right fairing. (pull out the plug first) The other end is just a pigtail. I used solderless crimp connectors with heat shrink sleeves or you can solder.

If you have one in your area, West Marine has a pretty good selection of terminals and connectors with heat shrink jackets with adhesive lining, as well as heat shrink tubing with the adhesive lining. That's the way to go, crimping or soldering.

I just bought two sets of pins (in case of mistakes) from EB and fitted them into the blank connector. Be careful for solder runs into the female pins (glad I went for two sets). One hour to solder the pins and fit the accessory socket.
