I'll be lucky to get 5k out of the rear, and the front is cupped badly. I'm in western PA, lots of tar and chip roads, really tears up tires. damn state will lay down new blacktop, and the next week tar and chip right over it!!! ARRRGHHH!!!
not sure what I'll do next, either tourances or anakee 3s, probably doesn't matter much, I'm sure either will work fine on pavement and gravel roads, and get much better mileage. I hate to skimp on tires, I usually ride 2up, loaded for camping, my tires take a beating!

Does Shinko make good tires?

Can anyone recommend a tire that's good on the street but has some limited off-road capability?

I was curious about Shinko as well. The price point seems excellent - almost too good - which makes me wary.....

If you got 15K out of the stock trail wings you will get plenty of mileage out of tourances. I got 3500 out of one that my friend replaced when it was "worn out" and I go though tires like mad. I think I got 6500 on the stock tires on my o6. That said, I hated the tourances because they didn't have enough grip and I slid the bike on more than one occasion.

I am quite happy with my shinko 705s. Shinko brand tires have improved in quality the last couple of years. There are several threads about them here....mostly positive reviews.

Just changed my trail wings at 24000 km and fitted tourances. First big ride on the new rubber this weekend
