What can I expect when I take the bar end screw all the way out? I'm seeing a rubber plug behind the actual bar end; is there anything else in there? I'm assuming that once the bar snake is in the handlebar, the rubber plug & bar ends are re-installed. Am I correct in my thinking? Any tips or suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks in advance,,,JC
Well.... you should never remove the bar end and leave the rubber plug inside the handlebar. The captive nut can sometimes fall out of the plug and then you are screwed. When removing the bar ends, simpy loosen the bolt and remove the entire assembly including the rubber plug and nut. You will have to work it out, but the whole thing will come out.
When putting your screw back in, don't force it and push the nut out of the rubber piece! Slowly screw it back in to capure the nut... otherwise it wil be a pian in the rear to get the nut and rubber piece out.
