Little help.

So I am installing my gps set up on the new bike. I got the harness from eastern beaver and set it up to my 12v. The accessory port on the front right isnt giving power. Does it need a fuse? What am i missing?

Is the ignition on? It is a switched power supply. I used the EB harness and did add a low amp fuse.

Check the 10A ignition fuse under the seat.

What kind of GPS?

If it is a Zumo then you should just take the harness directly to the Battery.

If it is something else then I guess it depends. For my previous GPS (Garmin 60Cx) I wired a cigarette Lighter directly to the battery. (Of course in all cases use a fuse inline!)

My GPS requires 5 volts DC, not 12 volts DC. You need to check yours to see what voltage it needs.

Same thing happened to me last week, but I was on the freeway in rush hour. I had temporarily adhered a panel meter to the fairing while I worked out a way to mount it. It fell off and shorted out on the fork, blowing the ignition fuse. I really appreciated Suzuki putting a spare fuse in the fuse box at that point.
