DL650 wins shoot out

Just got my Motor Cycle Consumer News. The had an article comparing the Glee, the Honda NC700XD and Bmw's F800GT. They rated the Glee over the other two overall.

Where? I think the one you are referring to is 2013 650 Twins Shootout - Motorcycle USA whereas op says "Motor Cycle Consumer News. The had an article comparing the Glee, the Honda NC700XD and Bmw's F800GT" which could possible be this: Motorcycle Consumer News - MCNews.com - The most complete, most detailed and most accurate information about every aspect of motorcycling.

The latest comparison is in the October issue of MCN. Looks liked the Glee won both.

That was one of the best comparison tests I have read. The MCN (US) guys do an excellent job at reporting (I think there is a real benefit to a subscriber based publication).

Rarely do the less expensive bikes get this level of attention in the glossier mags.

I subscribe to MCN, Motorcyclist, and Cycle World. MCN is by far the best, the other two not bad but a lot of ads, and a lot of bias

Hopefully you are joking. It could only have been a more stupid comparison if they had thrown a Goldwing or a Speed Triple in the comparison.
I've taken that magazine for at least 12 years and typically I've had a good opinion of it but this one was a low point.

Each bike had previously been reviewed on its own. Putting together this comparison may have just been a cheap way to generate another article. They had to write some new text making the comparisons, but the testing and data sheets were probably "recycled."
