Wee vs Glee

This is probably the worst place to ask this question but what the heck:

(I have a 2004 Wee and do not need to know how much better the Glee is but....)

a friend is looking at a 2012 Glee and I would like to help him with some of the diffferences between the Wee and the Glee. I know about the gear indicator and the two tone body, what else is there?

Besides gear indicator there is a trip computer that gives fuel mileage and a speedo that can change from Miles to KM.

-Slightly more power
-slightly smaller gas tank
-slightly better mileage ( my range on my 12 is the same as it was on my 2006)
-beter handling
-better braking (Apparantly ABS is better than previous versions but I didn't have on my 2006 and can't comment.)
-slightly better seat stock
-less buffeting stock (but many still modify things to improve.)
-redline at 10,000 on 2012 instead of 10,500
-less engine noise
-noticeably more torque almost everywhere (at least I noticed it.)
-feeling of better fit and finish and overall more quality (Subjective)
-looks slightly less ugly than before. Some misguided spectators seem to like the look and sometimes will say "good looking bike"

These are some quick thoughts. I am sure there is lots more.

2006 DL650: 202,000 km 125,500 miles, Sold
2012 DL650 139,500+ km, 86,700+ miles. Sold
2015 DL1000 New July 2015 200,000+ km, 125,000 miles.

This can help preventing from cars pulling out in front of you (SMIDSY)

Thanks! Exactly what I was looking for!

I think your '06 and my '04 were pretty much identical.

As for better looking............I find it hard to believe anyone would call either of them "Good Looking" but they are better than a Kawi Versys!

Thanks again, I'll pass the diffs along to my buddy. (He is replacing an 800 Tiger after he hit a deer and damn near killed himself!)

I know a 2012 DL will go over a SMALL Kangaroo without damage, but I don't think it's going to fare any better against a deer than a Tiger ?

(Just sayin)

Glee

Thanks McRuss and others.
I did decide on getting a 2012 DL650 V-Strom. Haven't been able to ride it much yet but sure looking forward to making it mine. I think have the fun of a new or different bike is doing the frackeling. Already ordered the center stand.
Next up will be a skid plate and engine guards. Not sure which it will be yet.
