I just bought a V-Strom 650 2007 and i love the bike :smile2:
But i have a question about it, i dont know who much power i have on the bike :crying2: :crying2: !!
My ECU indicates 27GBO (27GB0 maybe , i dont know if its a O or a 0 xD)
Can anyone helps me plz ?
I don't understand your q. How much power? Do you mean alternator output? Go to the shop manual for that info. Why are you quoting the engine control unit (computer) number when asking this question?
A lot of the members here are in the United States and we use horsepower as a measurement of engine power. Kilowatts is also a measurement of engine power. I believe that 745.69987 watts equals one horsepower. the dl650 has about 70 horsepower so it should be about
52 kilowatts or 52 kw.
Hi mate, if it's restricted you won't get the full rev range. The power will peak at a certain RPM. The 07-08 have a very strong mid range and will pull hard to redline with real quick acceleration. Hope that helps.
To answer part of OP's original question, the number on the ECM is 27GB 0 (zero). When using a plain font, an "O" would look like that, perfectly round.
I've read that some "detuned" bikes cannot be upgraded when the rider has completed their training. A low power bike has to stay that way.
BMW didn't use electronics it used a different cable pull on the throttle to restrict the opening of the fuel injection on the F800 series. Just move the cable end to the open pull point and away you go.

We don't have this reduced power situation in the U.S. so we don't really know as much about it as riders in other countries that do have the reduced power requirements. Can you ride with a rider with a similar bike who knows if his bike is restricted or not restricted and see how your bike compares? Does your bike pull strongly from 100 kph to 150 kph? (62 mph) to (93 mph) if so then it is not restricted.
Somewhere on the internet there is information on how to de-restrict your motor. If needed.
Since this is a new to you bike why not pull the tank and have a look at your filter to check it's condition. While you are in there check the intake tube and outlet tubes for restrictions.
I dont think it is possible to change a limited DL to unlimited. Certainley not the Australian ones to my knowledge. I think the difference goes beyond just changing the ECU.
@ denisfernandez, perhaps the link, Zop - le débridage sur la DL 650 K7 (ABS ou pas), may provide some more info to your query. Make use of the web page translation from French to the language of your choice. Use the linked info at your own risk.
The U.S. market 650's were released using the same ECU part number. On that basis I would believe that denisfernandz's bike is full power.
