Bar ends - loose?

So I was removing the Oem hand guards and accidentally unscrewed the bar end weights all the way. Trying to get them back in now but having an issue with the bar end still being loose/rotatable despite the bolt being screwed in as far as it will go.

How tight are the bar ends meant to be?

The idea is to loosen the weight and wiggle it out.
You only have part of the unit and will need to get the remaining parts out and reassemble the unit before re-insertion. Below is an image of the various parts.

You will need to use a piece of bent wire, or perhaps compressed air from the other side to get the missing parts out.

Where can I get the additional parts I need from? I'm in the UK and my initial searching suggests they aren't available anymore.

The additional parts should still be inside your handlebar.
Alternatively, if you just wish to leave them in there and get a whole new unit, all V-Stroms and DR Suzuki's use the same bar end weight. Visit your wrecker, or search eBay for an after market replacement.

Thanks for your assistance on this - was able to get around the lack of washers by raiding my spares box. Did the job perfectly as they are now properly tightened and no longer twistable.
