A fellow rider complained that my turn signals were not very bright. I replace the p21w light bulb with a 3497 bulb. It has about a hundred more lumens then the old bulb and it fits right in.

for some reason, Suzuki Engineers did not put a reflector behind the turn signal bulb. I got some glue and some aluminum foil and put aluminum behind the light bulb socket and on the sides. The turn signals are much brighter and the total cost was $10 and change. In the attached picture, the hazard warning is on so both turn signal bulbs are lit and it is clear that the right one is brighter than the left and the right one is the one I did the install to see the difference

I also had friends commenting that my directionals weren't very bright, I also did the tin foil trick with good results. Maybe I'll try the 3497 bulb.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one using aluminum foil inside my turn signals. Makes a huge difference in brightness... especially with LEDs.

I used that silver tape they wrap heating ducts with on the inside of my signals. Helps a bit.

After reading this thread I did the tinfoil trick with the stock bulbs and could see some improvement with the four-ways activated with only one side done at a time. I dunno, perhaps a 10 to 15 percent increase in light output. Not bad at all for a free mod!

The key is to crumple the foil dozens of times to generate hundreds of little creases everywhere. The more creases the more reflective.
