Dash Cover?

Hello all, I am new to the forums and a proud owner of a new to me 2009 dl650. I just brought it home last week and noticed something that I missed. It seems the previous owner had it sitting in the sun quite a bit, because the arrows and plastic above the gauges are slightly melted and warped.
I am curious if there is a product out there similar to a dash cover in but for a motorcycle. My searches keep trying to sell me car dash covers LOL. There is way too many advertisements online these days, it is simply ridiculous. It's like a pushy car salesman that you can't get rid of.
Anyways, I would appreciate your input, thanks.

I slide a small white t-shirt over the windshield (its the suns energy being focused through the windshield that causes the melting/warpage) or if my black bike is going to be in the sun for awhile, Nelson Rigg makes a easy to put on half cover with a silvery finish specifically for sun/UV protection (size Large for my gen 1 Wee).

You could try a few strips of black tape (electrical tape comes to mind) on the windshield, that will draw the suns intensity away from the dash possibly and act similar to eyeblack they wear in baseball I would assume, similar to the idea above. You might want to look for a tank, dash or gps bag if you have any use for them as they may help to block out some of the suns rays ☀️

look here........ https://www.adventuretech.biz/dl650-2004-to-2011.html

contact them if you don't see what you want and ask. this problem has been reported on before.
I remember certain aftermarket windshields caused problems like you describe by focusing sun. a t shirt fitted over the shield protects the dash for that particular shield. a search should answer more questions that you might have.

Google 'windshield melting dash' in the little box at the top of the page.

Sorry for the late reply, all. Life called and I couldn't ignore it. Your replies have answered my question, I will use the T-Shirt for now, but I do have plans to get an accessory dash panel for my bike in the future, as well as possibly a different wind screen, only time and the piggy bank will tell. Thank you all.

My 07 Wee is a Hurricane Harvey survivor. The dash is dead except for the turn / high beam indicators. I see I can get one off eBay for about $100 and I'll do that as the budget allows. Using the GPS at the moment for speed and mileage. Guess I will use the t-shirt trick when I get it replaced.
