Tank pads

Anyone installed any pads on the side of the tank for grip?

I slapped a pair of Tech Spec Snake Skin pads on my '15 XT more for paint protection than grip, tho they do help nicely in that regard as well.

Yes, $10 from eBay. They did have GSXR written on them , but a few minutes with a felt pen fixed that.

They've been fine FWIW. Dealt with the sliding forward under braking issue and are doing a good job of stopping my knees scuffing the paint.

I looked at the snake skins as well, winced at the price. Looked at ebay, winced at the price of anything DL specific - but GSXR's are like flies and the tank is still a Suzuki tank and generally the same shape. Prices for those were down in the "don't even think twice range" and I wasn't disappointed because apart from the GSXR logo the fit was perfect.

The rubber sticky back step grips from Walmart and such work great. Just trim to fit. Less than $10

I put the Tech Spec pad on mine and like them. They are especially helpful when riding two up and you hit the brakes. You can grip the tank with your knees and keep from sliding forward.
