Speedometer accuracy?

Going on interstate everyone was passing me, even grandma. Speedo said 70. When I was going with traffic it said 80. How far off is speedo and can you adjust it?

Mine is out 15% partly because I have changed the front and rear sprockets. There are at least 2 plug and play modules you can get to correct it. Speed Healer is one and a less expensive one is called Speedo-DRD. just google them.

I'm checking on applicability for the 2017+ models. Should know tomorrow.

7% , like Holmes cocaine solution, is typical error. There are devices to make it more correct or get a GPS and not to worry no mo!

Around 8% is the average.

Your bike will get it's signal from the ABS sensor on the front wheel so sprocket changes will have no effect on your speed reading.

At 60 indicated I'm doing 55 by GPS. 70 indicated is 63 by GPS.
