Trading up, to 2018 Vee

Just got a smoking deal on a 2018 Vee. Trading in my K3 with 80K miles. If anyone has any knowledge of what farkles I can change over please let me know I got a feeling that I am going to have to buy mostly new stuff because all the mounting is different. Things I think I am keeping off my K3 are listed below

Givi Trekker Bags ,,New Brackets?
Givi TN528 Engine Guards , i am guessing the mounting is different
Center stand possible or not?
SW-MOTECH Skid Plate?

From my knowledge and into my 2nd last model Vee, I can say that only Givi Bags are worth keeping (buy new mounts). The rest is not possible to mount on your new bike.

2014 DL1000 Red (sold)
2012 DL650 White (sold)

You'll love it. Consider changing front sprocket to 16T if you want the bike for more sporty use. There is a big thread about it somewhere here, in 2014-2017 section of the forum. I've done it on mine, when I had 2014 model and now on 2017 model I have one as well. Love it so much I couldn't imagine my bike without it. If you use the bike more for cruising and long trips, keeping 17T front sprocket may be good decision. In my case, I love 16T so much that I'd have it even if I used my bike only for traveling.
If you get too much buffeting, look at the sticky thread on top of this forum. You'll find out that Givi Airflow screen, Aprilia mirrors (or new VStrom 250 mirrors) on extenders will take care of it.

When I switched from 2004 to 2014 I moved my Pazzo levers over and they worked fine, also kept the Givi bags, but needed new mounts. All of my USB ports, and my GPS mount moved over, also moved over my fuse block and tail light flasher, but needed to buy a tail light harness (Eastern Beaver) to connect it all up.

Peg extenders and mirror extenders also fit (Adventuretech).

I think that was everything, but saved a few bucks anyways.

Good luck with the new bike, it is a major improvement over your old bike.

The new bike is much improved since the K3 bunch of new tech and smoother riding all round. I got my old Givi's to fit with a little drill press persuasion to the mounting plate. They are a little wide seeing its single exhaust and lower now. That gives me a little more room for my tool roll and thinking of adding 2 bottle mounts for fuel and water when camping. Now I need to figure out some highway pegs, got a cross country trip planed for the end of October. I don't know if I am going to go the skid plate route as never really took the k3 on more than 2-3 extreme moments mainly just highway miles. So honestly I am trying to find away around crash-bar mounts for the same reason.
