Akrapovic or Arrow Muffler?

Id like to lose the massive stock muffler on a V-Strom 1000 and gain just a bit more sound out of the bike. The Akrapovic unit is big money whereas the Arrow is about $300 less so I just assume save the money but I have yet to find a YouTube video comparing stock to Arrow. I dont want a really loud bike.

Anyone heard either or both of these?

Here is my Arrow when I had it on '14 model. I've transfered it to my '18 model now and it is still going strong. I've done full maintenance with 30.000 miles and it was not necessary as the interior was almost like new. Changed the interior anyway. It has something like 40.000 miles.
I ran it without silencer.

I have the same one as Bosnjo and definitely prefer the finished look with the cap on the connector. I usually leave the silencer in as mine pops on decel without it ((haven’t done any other tuning). With it in it is louder and lower but not annoying at lower RPM’s. It definitely growls if you get on it though. You say “massive stock muffler” not sure if you mean size or just weight? But from pics I’ve seen the Akra doesn’t look much smaller than OEM and for $825 (on sale) I had no interest.

Have you decided yet? I am also considering Leo Vince and Yoshi. I have a Leo on my BMW and has phenomenal sounds and looks great. Sorry but Akro's while great pipes are not worth the money they ask for them.

Not going to add one at this time. Stock will work.

Got an Arrow for stupid cheap on a local classified and installed it this morning, super happy with it. With the baffle it's almost like stock, but a lower tone unless you really open the throttle. I have removed the baffle and went for a little ride, if it doesn't get louder over time (I doubt the guy had it for 2 years) I might leave the baffle out.

EDIT: the baffle is back in, it's a bit too loud for my taste

Put a Danmoto muffler on last week and must say I'm impressed with the quality and sound. Not nearly as loud as the Scorpion on my 650. Just enough to be heard over wind. Only $146.
