2014 Suzuki side bags, lock mechanism is too stiff.

I am having difficulty and it is getting worse opening and closing one of the bags on my bike.
I have sprayed them and tinkered with grease on a pick but it still seems to getting worse. If I am not careful the plastic lock handle will break next.
Is there some source of the problem I am missing.

Hello Pg,
Do you have a problem with the lock cylinder, or with the handle/lid opening, closing, and mounting latch?
I too have a '14 DL1000, and the left side bag would act up at the most inconvenient time, woudnt open or close. There is a small plate that slides back and forth to allow either open/close operation, or dismount/mount function. someone is too heavy handed trying to pull the handle up or down while the plate is between the 2 modes, you'll have an issue from that point forward. Outside of the lock cylinder and bag mounting kit, parts are not supplied for the bag internal mounting/latching mechanism. Nt work around was to dismount the bag, shakit to ine side, then the opening operation was just fine--until it wanted to act up again. Solved by purchasing a good used left bag from one of our esteemed members on this site.
I havent tried to take my old bag apart to see what the actual issue was, but I suspect a link or detent stop for that plate has been sheered off.
