My chains have been lasting well over 40,000 miles (76,180 km with life left and 87,237 km for the second chain.) Front sprockets replaced a bit past half way through the chain life and the chains seemed to not mind.

Spec likes this.

My Opinion:
Vee or V= DL1000 before 2014
Vee2 or V2 = DL1000 2015 to 2019
Vee3 or V3 = DL1050 2020 to?

My Stroms:
2006 DL650: 202,000 km 125,500 miles, Sold
2012 DL650 139,500+ km, 86,700+ miles. Sold
2015 DL1000 New July 2015 205,000+ km, 127,000+ miles.

This can help preventing from cars pulling out in front of you (SMIDSY)

@V-Tom what brand chain and sprockets are you using? OEM? Mine still has quite a bit of life remaining, but I started looking into options and the OEM around here (even from RockyMountainATV) is about $350 for the set. Thought I'd start looking at the aftermarket options.

If anyone is still looking for the sprockets and chain part numbers on the Suzuki parts exploded views, the front sprocket and chain are on the transmission diagram and the rear sprocket is on the rear wheel diagram (at least for the 2014 Vee2).

I use the factory kit that has OEM chain and sprockets. I think it's less than $200 can$ I got have the parts number but someone else has posted it.

I never waste time or effort "cleaning" my chains since it does nothing useful anyway and just lube with each tank of gas and after every ride in the rain. (It takes 10 to 20 seconds to do on the understand.). I use Worth HHS 2000, called HHS K in the USA.
