H9 LED bulb replacement fitting?

Hi guys,

I don't have my shop manual with me and don't want to crawl around my bike (I'm at work in suit and tie.)

Can any of you tell me if there is room to work with this H9 LED or is the H9 Bulb under a room-limiting dust cap like the H7? If this might work I would order it to have tomorrow and try over the weekend.

Thanks,

..Tom

Here is the link to the light I am thinking of:

https://www.amazon.ca/Headlight-SEAL...ustomerReviews

(The H9 version)

If I don't hear soon I may just order anyway.

H9 (high beam) does not use dust cap. Super easy to replace with LED and lights up the road like you wouldn't believe. I got this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 , but they're all good, as long as reviews are good with enough feedback.

Just noticed H9/11 is no longer listed, but as I said.. any well reviewed one will work great.

@erci (and anyone else that knows!)

How do you disconnect the "coupler". Ie unplug the h9 bulb? I don't want to just yank on it (I'm very good at breaking things!).

Is there something I push or pull to release it? I can rotate the bulb a bit but the plug needs to be released before I can turn the bulb enough to release it.

EDIT: I went back in the house. Had some bourbon, watched some of f1 qualifying, Googled a bit then went out and looked at it again. It wasn't turning enough to get the bulb released because another connector was to the right of it. I thought that connector was fixed but turns out it moved out of the way and a few seconds later had it out. Shortly after had the h9 led mounted. Had to turn the plug in 180 to change the polarity other it just plugged right in.

Unfortunately the Bourbon precludes testing it out tonight.

Thanks,

Tom

Good job figuring it out. Wait till you try it.. you're gonna be shocked how well it lights everything up. I think it lights up better than my 2017 Titan with OEM LED lights.

I hope so!

It might be the first time I get to really use it will be Weds when I leave work at 8ish and head into the USA. (First step in the way to the Ironhorse.)
