Soon to be a member of this fraternity :)

Well, I started out wanting the 650 after all the rave reviews it has on this site and others. When I finally got on both of them, I liked the ergos of 1000 much better. Also like the lower revving engine and down-low torque better. Put a deposit on this '14 DL1000 and pick it up in Texas first weekend of April. 4,600 miles, $7,588 OTD with all the farkles.

Dude,
Congrats. Loved my '14 1000 from day one. 40 000 miles later and all is good. Minor issues over the past four years that were easily corrected. Make sure recalls were done and you are good to go. Great power in all gears, but 4th in particular is awesome.

Welcome. Previous owner obviously spared no money to add all high quality accessories to it, looks ready to go.

The handshake could be waving the cash you saved riding a Strom compared to the fancier, pricier, competition.

And the dance could be your own, personal Happy Dance.

Yup. Trying to figure out the best route with the limited time I have available. Shop is moving from Austin to east TX and isn't sure where he'll be when I come down so that's another wrinkle. If it rains I'll prolly just slab it home but if it's nice, I'm looking to hit northern MS and AL, up into TN to ride Tail of the Dragon and on into VA for Back of the Dragon (neither of which I've ridden before).

It was the personal bike of the shop owner of the website it's listed on and had dealer plates it's whole life. So it's technically still a new bike. But with only 4,600 miles, it is practically new. REALLY looking forward to it.
