Help - new chain and sprockets decisions

Hi all,

So been riding my 2014 V2 Adventure ABS for several thousand miles with a 16t front sprocket. Love how it feels around town, I actually get to shift and use 3rd gear.......but.... on the freeway it seems just a tad high in RPMs. Cruising at 75 at 5K sounds a bit on the high side (yea I am a thumper rider and like to lug them around)

So....

Do I just stick with it and appreciate the fact that it keeps me from speeding too much? or should I try to make a minor change like go to a 17/43 combo?

I have spent time on GearingCommander.com searching for answers......

There's no right or wrong decision. It's just what you want.

I'm happy with stock gearing at any speed... whether putting around, in stop and go traffic or slabbing all day long at 140 kph/85mph.

I also like that the factory sprocket and chain kit is a decent price. (Mind you my chains and sprockets last so long it hardly matters.)

ride on and brutalguyracing like this.

2006 DL650: 202,000 km 125,500 miles, Sold
2012 DL650 139,500+ km, 86,700+ miles. Sold
2015 DL1000 New July 2015 195,000+ km, 121,000 miles.

This can help preventing from cars pulling out in front of you (SMIDSY)
