Hello I have Givi 30 something liter waterproof side cases that can also be used as a top box. The flaw is there is a cut out for the opening and water pools and leaks in. I now have moldy winter gloves, rain gear and jacket liner. Gloves are probably a lost cause. I'm looking for something waterproof I can keep in a side case to protect softgoods I carry all the time. Large durable ziplocks... My bike lives outside in NYC, I keep several gloves and the jacket liner and rain gear in the bike as a commute with it if there's no snow and in a 5 story walk up building. Also any tips on cleaning moldy gear....

These are cheap and would work for what you describe. Apply clear or black silicone sealant around inside of lockset and you should be able to stop most, if not all, water intrusion.

Soak all moldy gear for a couple of hours in a bucket of cool water with a few ounces of hydrogen peroxide then wash and let air dry. Even gloves should be ok.

Never trust the outer shell of your bag, backpack or case to hold all the moisture out. Pack your gear in individual dry bags like these:

Make sure you have an assortment at home with different colours and sizes.

Simple fix. Go to Walmart and get the vacuum bags meant to put clothes in for tighter packing in a suitcase. These seal up airtight, so that means watertight. I have been using these on trips on the bike to compress stuff like fleece liners that I may or may not need on the way.

Have a look at their products. There is spray-on variety that will kill mold for sure.
