No instrument lights or tail light

So I was in the driveway tonight and turned the bars lock to lock while parking it and the instrument lights went dark. Did some searching on here and checked all fuses under seat and they are fine. No tail light and no fuel pump spin up when I turn on the key but I can start and ride the bike.

I figure it is something in the front fork area of the bike and will remove plastic tomorrow and see what I can find.

Could it be the main connector to the instrument lights? not sure how that would affect fuel pump and tail light. I do have a voltmeter and test light.

Any suggestions on what to check?

If the bike runs the fuel pump must be working.
The easiest cure is to disconnect, inspect for corrosion, and reconnect all connectors. Ensure that all pins are clean and corrosion free. After that you will be looking for bare or broken wire/s in the loom or faring, probably where they flex when the handlebars move. If that is the case the outer loom itself should also be damaged.
I would look at the plugs and connectors first.
It is strange that your tail lights are also out. Are you sure that this occured at the same time as the loss of instruments? Just to confirm - the whole dash display is dead?
And also that you have a headlight, and brake lights?

Thanks Brockie,

Not sure tail light went out at same time.

The instrument panel is totally dark. The 12v cigarette lighter plug does work.

I will have time on Sunday to take a closer look,

The first place I would look is the back of the dash.

2 bolts & 2 push pins then pop the dash face out, there is a big plug on the left side covered with a rubber boot.

I had trouble with the one on my bike a while back but there is no grantees this is your problem.
