Loud click when switching gears

I have a '14 vee2 and I have always noticed this loud click when I switch gears. The gears change just fine with no lag or other sounds except this very loud click as it goes in/changes. Is this normal?

I guess I should add that it happens when upshifting and downshifting alike.

Wear earplugs! lol... just wanted to be the first to say it this time. Every bike I've been on has made some sort of click or clunk when shifting. Cogs n gears and such need to engage.

If you put your bike on center stand, then start it and rev the engine, does the back wheel spin?

I don't have a center stand but it spins pretty good when I'm on it!

A couple of posts moved into oil brand names. By rule, they were moved to https://www.stromtrooper.com/general-...il-thread.html

If you want to discuss oil, go there.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s
See https://www.stromtrooper.com/general...nicknames.html

Please vote in the poll on what Strom(s) you have at https://www.stromtrooper.com/informa...-you-have.html
