I can't say for certain. In the service manual I only see tightening torque specs for the plug, size not listed

My notes say M12 x 1.25. Make sure the new drain plug head clears the outside bend in the pan. I made that mistake.

You have a 650. The 1000 uses an M14x1.25

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s

You can also buy self tapping drain plug inserts. They typically have an inner that's smaller but they are easier to use.

i.e. LOTS and LOTS of people have made this mistake and there's a premade cure

Thanks for the confirmation, I just spent 20 bucks on a caliper to make sure.

I'm going to do a writeup on the time sert install. There doesn't seem to be one for this bike.
