ECU Flash?

My 2014 hasn't exhibited any of the ECU issues that have been previously discussed but I'm curious if Suzuki performs ECU flashes? When I owned my Ulysses, the Buell/Harley dealer would always install the latest ECU flash for no charge.

I have't seen any mention of this with regard to the Strom. I dropped my bike at the dealer a week and a half ago for the recalls, so now would be a good time for a new flash, if possible.

Nope. Suzuki replaces the ECM if anything.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s

Please vote in the poll on what Strom(s) you have at

It's not the first time that somebody questioned why faulty ECUs don't get reflashed.

Reiner from | ums Motorrad und Motorradreisen asked a 'Suzuki'-Technician this question. The answer was only a few dealer have the expensive hard and software equipment but officially Suzuki doesn't give ECU software/code out of house. Not even to the dealers.

They probably don't want to voluntary share their coding with 'others' by distributing it all over the world.
