Front wheel removal?

Is a 1/2" going to be enough clearance to remove the front wheel from the bike?

Probably will have to take off the front fender to get it out.

Had some other pieces of wood in my garage, used them.......... front wheel is now 1.5" off the ground. That should do the trick.

Thanks all!

Off-topic: I've seen a couple of other carpeted garages, which seems like a good idea when working the bikes or cars. My concern would be with rain, snow, salt and road grime dripping onto it and staying down in there and causing mold and such. Any problems with this?
