Chain replacement for a DL 1000 -2014

After 40 000 Km I ordered a Suzuki chain kit (chain and spockets) from my Suzuki dealer...

When the spockets are similar of what I have on my bike, I have been surprise to get a chain with 56 links when the original chain is having 58 links.

Can it be a problem if I install that new chain?

How can you explain that Suzuki is not providing a similar chain ?

When the chain gets old it stretches out to 58 links.

Can't explain why Suzuki provide you a shorter one but the most important thing is you have to install the chain on you bike to see if it gonna fit. Maybe it will works cause on mine the wheel adjustment is almost at the end so the are plenty of room to install a shorter chain if you bring your wheel forward.

Can't comment on the number of links, but when I had my chain and sprockets changed, I went up to a wider 530 size. Hopefully this will let me get more miles out of them. We'll see.

You said that you got both sprockets in the kit, right? Is the new counter shaft sprocket larger by 1 and the rear smaller by 3?
