Can you provide further information on how you accomplished the feat of getting a replacement?

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s
See https://www.stromtrooper.com/general...nicknames.html

Please vote in the poll on what Strom(s) you have at https://www.stromtrooper.com/informa...-you-have.html

Yes, what kind of threats did you have to pile up to get dealer/Suzuki fix your bike? What got it rolling?

I also had my ECU replaced with the 31j12 and to my disappointment it didn't change anything. Mine still runs like shit in the lower rpms and doesn't behave as a bike like this should. And I still have that knocking noise that shows up as soon as the bike gets warmed up. I told Suzuki about this and how bad the fueling issues are and they told me they won't do anything about it. I guess from what I have read I am going to have to purchase a PC if I want different results. Bad taste in my mouth since the first oil change and not sure I will be able to wash it out with this bike.

I guess you need to decide if putting more money into it is going to make you happy, or if it might be better to sell it and get a "...".

That knocking will likely never go away.

What kind of slow speed issues do you have that you cannot compensate for with your clutch? The only slow speed thing I have is in heavy traffic my clutch hand gets tired and it can be tricky to relax it without putting a foot down.

Yes, what must one do? It would be nice if they would just replace it for the asking...I'm not much into bullying, conflict or confrontation.

Mine starts as if it needs to be choked as if it was carburated. I still experience surging and fueling issues in the lower rpms as if it's just not getting it. I got Suzuki to do the exchange by complaining to dealer and to Suzuki corporate and filing complaints with consumer groups. Although I don't think that they had anything to do with it. It was replaced before I heard back from the Federal Trade Com. or any others I notified. It was a lot of energy and time on my part and a lot of frustration during the process when I should have been enjoying riding a NEW bike. And then to not have much change after the fact really bums me out. I wish I had been smart enough to search this forum before I bought, but as they say hindsight is always 20/20. I guess I will do more research on a power commander. I really bought this bike thinking the only thing I would have to by aftermarket would be a center stand which by the way should come with bike from factory. In the words from Jerry Jeff Walker.. " I've been taken again"

Jimi I feel your frustration and sorry you seem to have gotten a "lemon". I know it doesn't help your situation, but even research might not have helped you since your experience is very much in the minority. For every rider like you that has a poor running V2 and complains about it on this forum, there are hundreds (maybe thousands) that have perfectly running bikes whether they post up here or not...

I'm glad that your new ECU has you enjoying the bike more than you did before. My 2014 has covered 2000 trouble free miles so far on the stock ECU. I can assure you that it is not because I just assume it's running the way its supposed to run. I think it runs great because it flat out does. It idles smoother than my brand new Subaru. It pulls almost as strongly as my 2003 Aprilia Tuono (to an extent, then the Tuono would walk the Strom). It shifts smoother than any bike I have ever owned. Low speed, roll-on throttle, cruise, warm, cold, hot...it's been a dream.

I don't contend that your bike didn't have it's issues. But I take issue with your assumption that they all have problems and we're just sucking it up. I don't know why some have issues and some don't, but I can tell you that my bike could not run better than it has so far.
