V2 Turn Indicator (Question for the smart kids)

Objective 1: Convert my V2 turn indicators into running lights
Objective 2: Use LED bulbs
Question: Why not / How, reverse the indicator wiring such that the lights are always on and the flasher breaks the ground connection so they just blink "off" instead of blinking "on" ?

Can it be that simple...

Just buy LED indicators for Yamaha MT-09 Tracer. They are what you need, front and rear ones (rears are red when not blinking).
Those indicators are not stock. They are sold as MT-09 Tracer OEM accessories at Yamaha dealers.

Many places offer modules that swap flash function, leaving the lights on normally and flashing then when signalling. Blinker Genie for Run and Turn with LED Signals on Motorcycles ? Custom LED is one such place. The same site offers LED lamps that are a good idea as leaving incandescents on produces a lot of heat. You will also need a two connection LED friendly flasher.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s
