Did you reset the trip meter? You need to do that.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s

Trip meters do not reset automatically. They have no way of "knowing" the limits you want to set.

FWIW I reset trip 2 when I fill my tank and, in normal day to day stuff, reset trip 1 when I leave the house. On trips I'll generally reset trip 1 at the beginning of each day. (On my VW GTI I also reset trip 2 when I fill my tank. Trip 1 resets automatically when the car sits for two hours or more.)

2012 DL650 139,500+ km, 86,700+ miles. Sold
2015 DL1000 New July 2015 200,000+ km, 125,000 miles.

How about that. I never heard of an auto reset trip meter before. I reset trip 1 when I get fuel and trip 2 when I change oil.

It's been around for a long time.. I first saw it on a VW Scirocco back in 1983 or thereabouts and all my VW's since have had it. It is still in use and can also be found on Porsche's.
