carbon fiber wrap

hey guys. got this idea from a group on Facebook. used 3M carbon fiber wrap. love the look

Looks great! I've been thinking about using some black vinyl wrap on some items. Any tips for a quality result?

Nice! I did the same to the lower peg plastics just like you.. I hate when they get all scuffed up, especially when it comes to resale.

That looks great. I would love to do my tank and beak sometime, maybe a burntt Orange or kawi Green. It would also add a layer of protection.

Done mine when bike was new, not the carbon fibre effect but just plain black wrap. It was great and very resistant. About one year later few bubbles showed up, then few more, and more...
Had to remove it completely and painted it with PlastiDip. This is how it looks now:


2017 DL1000 White
2014 DL1000 Red (sold)
2012 DL650 White (sold)

very nicely done!!

FYI, I did some research on this in the past year. The 3m film is not as robust on exterior applications as another carbon look film on the market.

This is the non-3m film reputed to be more sturdy when used on exterior.
