Getting "High Beamed"?

I ride a lot at night so headlight aim is important to me. I've always been very anal about making sure my headlights are adjusted properly so that I don't blind oncoming drivers - I hate it when I get blinded. I also constantly check to make sure the cutoff line of my low beam is at the appropriate level.

Even though everything is set right I swear I am getting people flashing high beams at me as if I have my highs on much more often than I did on my previous (two headlight) stroms. I'm not talking about cresting hills or accelerating or being loaded so that the lights are actually aiming too high...but just riding along secondary highways at constant speed on the level. I seat that I almost daily get zapped by someone. This seems more common now in the dark of Winter. Last night on the way home I swear I got zapped three times in just an hour of riding.

Is this just a run of bad luck on my side or have any of you experienced the same thing on our 2014+ DL1000?

..Tom

My Opinion:
Vee or V= DL1000 before 2014
Vee2 or V2 = DL1000 2015 to 2019
Vee3 or V3 = DL1050 2020 to?

My Stroms:
2006 DL650: 202,000 km 125,500 miles, Sold
2012 DL650 139,500+ km, 86,700+ miles. Sold
2015 DL1000 New July 2015 205,000+ km, 127,000+ miles.

This can help preventing from cars pulling out in front of you (SMIDSY)

Are the drivers looking through the steering wheel in a very low car? It might be an indication of changing dynamics in your city.

I think it's always on secondary highways that are unlit, not in town. I don't think the people you are alluding to are aware their cars have hi/low beam switches in any event.

They dip as soon as I flash the high back at them... I'm just wondering why people are thinking I have the high beam on in the first place.

My 04 Wee is the opposite. My low beams barely light up the roadway ahead. I need to find the adjuster and give it a whack. The damper screws are at about mid point.

I used to think that sometimes, then I realized it was winter and it was just frost heaves bouncing the vehicles up and down
