no fast idle

is there no fast idle on a cold start
seems to just start at the normal idle
in MN we are in the 40s and 50s and I would have assumed it would have some sort of cold start program

There is a fast idle if it is cold enough to need it. It sounds like it doesn't need it yet if it isn't stalling.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s

Please vote in the poll on what Strom(s) you have at

I was starting mine at near freezing last week. It started out with a fast idle but only for a short period of time.

My 650 acts a bit the same way, but has never died on me nor has it ever been close to dying.

What GW said. The last couple days it's been in the low to mid 30s F in the morning which was cold enough to fast idle for a short time. 40s was not cold enough on my bike.
